How to make a QR code for a link, Wi-Fi or contact

QR Code Maker turns a link, Wi-Fi network, contact or message into a static QR code. The code holds the content itself, so it works without any service behind it. It is built in this tab, with no tracking, and nothing is uploaded or saved. No account is needed.

QR Code Maker

Make static QR codes for links, Wi-Fi, contacts and text, and download PNG or SVG.

What you can do

  • Make static codes for links, text, Wi-Fi, vCard 3.0 contacts, email, phone numbers and SMS, with validation and correct escaping.
  • Choose error correction L, M, Q or H and see the version and capacity details, with a colour contrast check for scannability.
  • Adjust the module scale, quiet zone and colours, then download a PNG or an SVG.

How to use this app

  1. Choose a content type and fill in its fields. Links need http or https, and problems are shown beside the field.
  2. Choose error correction, module scale, quiet zone and colours. Dark modules on a light background with strong contrast scan best.
  3. Check the preview, version and capacity details, scan the code with a phone, then download a PNG or SVG.

Limits and privacy

  • Codes are static only: no logos, shaped modules, dynamic links or tracking. Capacity is up to 2,953 bytes at level L, and a PNG can be up to 4,096 pixels a side.
  • Anyone who scans a Wi-Fi or contact code can read the details inside it. Test every code before you print or share it. Reloading discards the code, so your download is the record.

Common questions

Can it make dynamic or tracked codes?

No. It makes static codes only, which hold the content directly and do not depend on a service.

Why am I warned about colours?

Scanners need strong contrast with dark modules on a light background. Light-on-dark codes and low contrast can fail on some scanners.

Is QR Code Maker free, and do I need an account?

Yes, it is free. QR Code Maker runs in your browser with no account or payment details, and it never uses OnePassApps credits.
