How to turn CSV data into bar, line and scatter charts

Chart Maker turns a small CSV dataset into a bar, line or scatter chart without an account or an upload. Choose the columns explicitly so the plotted values stay tied to your source. A full accessible data table accompanies the graphic, making it possible to check values even when a long axis label is shortened.

Data / Charts / Local utility

Chart Maker

Turn local CSV into charts with SVG/PNG downloads and an accessible data table.

What you can do

  • Paste CSV or import a UTF-8 file with unique, non-empty headers and the same number of cells in each row.
  • Plot one numeric series, including zero and negative values; scatter charts use numeric X and Y columns.
  • Download a self-contained SVG or a 2000 × 1240 PNG after applying the current chart settings.

How to use this app

  1. Paste or select CSV and correct any parsing errors beside the editor. Use plain numeric values rather than currency strings or blank numeric cells.
  2. Choose label/X and value columns, select a chart type and enter a title. Select Create chart to apply the dataset and settings.
  3. Compare the preview with the accessible data table, then download SVG or PNG. After changing inputs, create the chart again before exporting.

Limits and privacy

  • The tool accepts up to 500 data rows and 1 MB of CSV. It does not aggregate rows, infer missing values, connect to live data or plot multiple series.
  • CSV and chart settings remain in memory and disappear when you leave or reload. Save your source and downloaded graphic separately.

Common questions

Does a line chart sort my rows?

No. Bar and line charts preserve CSV row order and repeated category labels. Arrange the source rows in the order you want to show.

Why are downloads disabled after I edit?

Downloads use the applied chart. Select Create chart again so the output matches the current CSV, column choices and title.

Is Chart Maker free, and do I need an account?

Yes, it is free. Chart Maker runs in your browser with no account or payment details, and it never uses OnePassApps credits.
