How to read a script with a browser teleprompter
Browser Teleprompter displays a prepared script as adjustable scrolling text for rehearsal or reading aloud. Paste your own wording, choose a readable size and start playback when ready. The tool runs locally without an account, camera, microphone or recording permission. It does not generate a script or follow your voice automatically.
Writing / Speech / Local utility
Browser Teleprompter
Read a scrolling script with adjustable speed, type size, mirroring, and keyboard controls.
What you can do
- Adjust text from 20 to 96 pixels and scrolling speed from 5 to 200 pixels per second.
- Mirror the script for a reflective setup while leaving controls readable, or hide the editor in Reading mode.
- Pause, restart, scroll manually and download the current script as an unchanged TXT file.
How to use this app
- 01Paste a script of up to 60,000 characters. Set the type size and speed for your reading position, and enable mirroring if your setup needs it.
- 02Start playback explicitly. Use the controls or focus the reading region: Space toggles playback, Up/Down change speed, Home restarts and Escape pauses.
- 03Pause to revise or practise again. Download the script as TXT before leaving the app or reloading the page.
Limits and privacy
- Playback pauses at the end and when the tab becomes hidden. Returning to the tab does not automatically resume scrolling.
- Scripts and previous-script recovery exist only in the current session. Keyboard shortcuts do not take over typing fields, sliders or ordinary button use.
Common questions
Does it record video or listen to my microphone?
No. This is a scrolling text tool. It does not request camera or microphone access and does not record a presentation.
Can I recover text replaced by the example?
Loading an example over existing text asks for confirmation. Restore previous script swaps the session's current and previous text; download a copy for lasting storage.
Is Browser Teleprompter free, and do I need an account?
Yes, it is free. Browser Teleprompter runs in your browser with no account or payment details, and it never uses OnePassApps credits.
